Veterans' Home Care (VHC) is a Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) program designed to assist veterans, war widows and widowers (entitled persons) who need a small amount of practical help to continue living independently in their homes.
At Premium Aged and Community Services, we’re here to ensure veterans and their families receive the care and assistance they deserve. Our head office is in Tamworth and we provide a range of VHC services for clients living in Toowoomba, Woy Woy, Gosford, Wyong, Moree, Gunnedah, Armidale, Quirindi and surrounds. Our services include:
VHC is not designed to meet complex or high-level care needs. Veterans may also be eligible for DVA community nursing.
VHC services are subsidised by the Australian Government through the Department of Veterans' Affairs. There is a fee co-payment required to be paid by the program recipient. This will be determined by the VHC assessment agency.
Veterans and war widowers who hold a Veteran Gold Card or a Veteran White Card for an accepted condition are eligible to be assessed for all VHC services. To receive VHC services, you need to undergo an assessment with a DVA VHC Assessment Agency. They can be contacted on 1300 550 450.
Following a request from the VHC Assessment Agency, our care coordinators will arrange a convenient time to discuss your care plan and commence the delivery of the approved VHC service.
